Rishika's Story
When did you first get involved with CCFI?
I first got involved with CCFI when my sister and I were looking for a local charity that we could have our family and friends donate to in lieu of gifts at our graduation dance recital. I then toured the facility in spring of 2017 and learned about their services.
Why were you moved to join CCFI as a volunteer?
I was very impressed with all the services that CCFI provided to any and every person in need. Seeing this at their center, I immediately knew that I wanted to be more involved.
What do you enjoy most about volunteering?
It feels amazing to give back to the local community. While volunteering in the Baby Pantry, I got to see how grateful parents were to have a place to come for help and that was very gratifying.
What do you feel is the biggest impact CCFI has made on the community?
Everyone at CCFI is truly dedicated to its mission of healing children, empowering youth and strengthening families. Knowing that people have a place to go when they are in need, provides a sense of comfort within the community. That, I think, is CCFI’s biggest contribution!
What would you like to say to encourage others to volunteer at CCFI?
The impact CCFI has on the community is undeniable and I am proud to say that I am able to assist them with their mission. Helping people first hand gives you a glimpse of how important this organization is, and the feeling when someone tells you how thankful they are for your help is very humbling and unforgettable. I encourage people to volunteer so they can give back and experience that feeling for themselves!
