When did you first get involved with CCFI?

Too many years ago to remember! But I have been actively involved with CCFI for 12 or 13 years now.

Why were you moved to join CCFI as a Board Member?

Our family has experienced the healing work that CCFI does first-hand and believe in their mission, so jumping at the opportunity to be more involved in something we feel so strongly about was easy. Knowing the impacts of trauma on children and families, and seeing what CCFI is doing to assist those in our community, made the opportunity to help a definite yes

What do you enjoy most about your service on the Board?

The people I serve alongside are pretty amazing, as is the long list of those who have served before me. However knowing that CCFI is healing children, empowering youth and strengthening families in our community to impact our future...and having the privilege of being part of that…wow, what joy!

What do you feel is the biggest impact CCFI has made on the community?

CCFI is about connection - connecting parents to resources and people to help, restoring relationships and helping to build new relationships. Through these connections, CCFI helps to heal children and strengthen families. Family cycles are changing from negative to positive, and generations are being impacted.

What would you like to say to encourage others to get involved with CCFI, whether by donating or volunteering?

CCFI is doing incredible things to help families just like ours. The need is great and the services our critical to our community. Trauma exists in Norman, Oklahoma and it is our job to do something about it. Choose to get in the doors of CCFI and volunteer and invite your friends to join you. Collect items needed to help programs run so expenses can be utilized to serve more families. Write a check, or many checks, or do all of the above! Choose to help the children and families in our community.
