When did you first get involved with CCFI?

I first got involved with the agency in many decades ago. I believe it was around 1986.

Why were you moved to join CCFI?

I was an elementary school counselor for many years and attended various professional meetings and conferences. During one of these professional conferences, I overheard two CCFI employees talking about their agency and the services they provide. I immediately offered my support as a volunteer, which later turned into full time employment.

What did you enjoy most about volunteering and working at CCFI?

The people with whom I worked, the scope of the programs, the families who were served by the agency and the overall atmosphere. These were just a few of the many things I enjoyed most -the list goes on!

What do you feel is the biggest impact CCFI has made on the community?

The biggest impact CCFI’s made on the community is the concept of working with the whole family to facilitate change and understanding. To me, that’s huge!

What would you like to say to encourage others to volunteer at CCFI?

College students will gain experience in working with others who need help. They will also gain an understanding of both others and themselves. It’s truly a win-win situation.
