Chuck's Story
When did you first get involved with CCFI?
I started driving the bus for Boys & Girls Club of Norman in February 2016. I make my rounds and pick up kids from 4 different schools and drop them off at the Club each day.
Why were you moved to help with Boys & Girls Club of Norman?
I felt compelled to help because I felt it would be a good opportunity to help mentor the kids.
What do you enjoy most about being involved with CCFI?
I have thoroughly enjoyed the relationships I’ve built with the kids over the years. Some kids won’t even look your way in the beginning, but after some time getting to know them, they learn to develop relationships with you and hold conversations. That’s when you know you’re really making a difference in their lives!
What do you feel is the biggest impact CCFI has made on the community?
I feel like the agency has given great opportunity to these kids at Boys & Girls Club of Norman. They learn about nutrition, are given time for physical fitness and get help with studying and homework.
What would you like to say to encourage others to get involved with CCFI?
You have so many opportunities to make a difference in a child’s life. You just have to DO IT!
