Volunteer Minimum Requirements
Our Promise to Protect Children
CCFI provides a safe environment for children and youth to heal and grow. Our agency works to protect those we serve from abuse and maltreatment by carefully screening staff and volunteers, providing training on topics such as physical, emotional and sexual abuse awareness and prevention, and by continually monitoring adult-child relationships.
Photo Release
As a volunteer, I understand that my photo may be used in publications and I hereby consent to the following:
My image or likeness may be used by Center for Children and Families, Inc. its assigns or successors, in whatever way they desire for future promotional pieces (i.e. social media). Furthermore, I hereby consent that such photographs, films, and electronic images shall be their sole property and Center for Children and Families, Inc. has the right to duplicate and reproduce the images as they desire, free and clear of any claim on my part. This authorization shall remain in effect until revoked by me in writing.
Confidentiality Statement
As a volunteer of the Center for Children and Families, Inc. (CCFI), understand and agree to the statements outlined below regarding Confidentiality of the clients served:
The clients involved in the agency must know that the CCFI is a safe place they can trust, and what they or their children say or do while in the agency will be kept private. With this in mind, we ask that our volunteer sign the following confidentiality agreement.
I promise that I shall hold in confidence all information regarding participants of the programs of CCFI. I will not violate the confidential relationships between CCFI, its volunteers, staff, and the participants in the program. I accept full responsibility for maintaining the confidential and private nature of all participate information.
Furthermore, I understand that if I have reason to believe that any participant of the programs of CCFI is in danger, I have a "duty to warn". I will cooperate with law enforcement, child welfare, and other program staff/volunteers to protect the safety of the participants and report and suspected child abuse and/or neglect. I understand that duty to warn is my legal obligation and overrides participant confidentiality. If I have any questions about this agreement or a concern about the safety of a participant, I will contact the program staff member or volunteer/resource coordinator immediately.
Additional Volunteer Requirements
As a volunteer, I agree to adhere to the following:
I will immediately report any suspicion of child abuse or neglect to my supervisor and to the proper authorities as per CCFI policy.
At no time will I be alone with a single child in a location that cannot be observed by other staff or volunteers including in bathroom areas.
I will never leave a child alone and unsupervised.
I will respect a child's right not to be touched in ways that make them feel uncomfortable.
I will use positive techniques of behavior management, including redirection, positive reinforcement, and encouragement.
I will refrain from intimate displays of affection towards other staff in the presence of children, parents, and staff.
I will not use profanity, inappropriate jokes, or sharing intimate details of my personal life the presence of children, or other participants.
I will portray a positive role model for youth by maintaining an attitude of respect, loyalty, patience, courtesy, tact and maturity.
I will not form a relationship with a CCFI client outside of services. This includes babysitting, tutoring, visiting their home, inviting a child to my home or taking them places. I will report any pre-existing relationships to my supervisor.
I will never give children my personal contact information, including, but not limited to social networking websites, personal e-mail or home addresses and phone numbers. If a child attempts to add me on social media during my time volunteering, I will consult with my supervisor immediately.
I will never take photos of children with my personal device and will never post photos or info about children.
I will never give a personal gift or money to any CCFI participant. If a CCFI client attempts to provide me with a gift or money, I will consult with a supervisor immediately.
I will never release children to anyone other than the authorized parent, guardian, or other adult as documented by the parent or guardian on file.
Indemnity Agreement
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. THIS DOCUMENT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS AND IS LEGALLY BINDING. BY SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT YOU ARE RELEASING CENTER FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES, INC. (CCFI) INCLUDING BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF NORMAN, FROM ALL LIABILITY AND FOREVER GIVING UP ANY CLAIMS THEREFOR
Assumption of Risk
I acknowledge and agree that any use of Center for Children and Families, Inc. (CCFI) facilities, services, equipment and premises (“Facilities”) and any participation in CCFI programs, activities (“Programs”) and Volunteering comes with inherent risks including, but in no way limited to: (1) moderate and severe personal injury, (2) property damage, (3) disability, (4) death, and (5) sickness or disease including, without limitation, COVID-19. I voluntarily accept and assume full responsibility for these risks as well as any and all other risks of the use of Facilities and participation in Programs. I agree that I have full knowledge of the nature and extent of all such risks and am not relying on all such risks being described in this document.
Waiver, Release, Indemnification & Covenant Not to Sue
In consideration of the use of Facilities, participation in Programs and Volunteering I, the undersigned, agree that CCFI, its officers, directors, agents, employees, volunteers, insurers and representatives (“Releasees”) will not be liable for any personal injury, property damage, disability, death, sickness or disease incurred by myself, my family members, dependents, or guests, including minors, however occurring including, but not limited to the negligence of Releasees. I understand that I will be solely responsible for any loss or damage, including personal injury, property damage, disability, death, sickness or disease sustained from the use of Facilities and participation in Programs.
I further agree, on behalf of myself and any and all legal successors and proxies, to release and HEREBY DO RELEASE, WAIVE AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE Releasees from any causes of action, claims, suits, liabilities or demands of any nature whatsoever including, but in no way limited to, claims of negligence, which I and any and all legal successors and proxies may have, now or in the future, against Releasees on account of personal injury, property damage, disability, death, sickness, diseases or accident of any kind, arising out of or in any way related to the use of Facilities or participation in Programs, whether that participation is supervised or unsupervised, however the injury or damage occurs, including, but not limited to the negligence of Releasees.
In further consideration of the use of Facilities and participation in Programs, I agree to INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS Releasees from any and all causes of action, claims, demands, losses, suits, liabilities or costs of any nature whatsoever, including claims of negligence, arising out of or in any way related to the use of Facilities and participation in Programs by myself, my family members, dependents or guests, including any minors.
Code of Conduct
When acting as an employee, volunteer or Board member of Center for Children and Families, Inc., I agree to the following:
1. I will comply with all laws, regulations and CCFI policies and procedures.
2. I will act in the best interest of the children and families served by CCFI.
3. I will honor client confidentiality.
4. I will treat my colleagues and the children and families served by CCFI with respect and honor differences arising from each person’s experience.
5. I will not engage in or tolerate discrimination, harassment or bullying in any form.
6. I will refrain from all types of abuse including physical, verbal, sexual and neglect.
7. I will refrain from the use of alcohol, or illegal drugs any prescription drug that may impair my judgement during working hours or on CCFI premises.
8. I will at all times adhere to CCFI policies and procedures and follow directions provided to me during my orientation, training and ongoing supervision.
9. I will safeguard CCFI assets including tangible and intellectual property and reputation.
10. I will report information accurately to funders, external partners and internal colleagues.
11. I will promote and market CCFI services honestly and ethically.
12. I will avoid any actual or perceived personal or financial conflict of interest (competing loyalties) that might hinder my ability to perform my job duties with integrity. When in doubt I will consult with my supervisor or a trusted colleague.
13. I will work collaboratively with my colleagues and community partners and communicate directly in good faith to resolve any conflict or disagreement.
14. If unable to resolve a conflict or disagreement, I will seek help from my supervisor or other member of management and will avoid gossiping with others.
15. I will maintain professional boundaries in my relationships with clients and their family members and avoid dual relationships.
16. I will ensure that personal relationships with colleagues do not hinder my ability to perform my job duties with integrity.
17. I will report any observed or suspected violation of this code of conduct or any potential wrongdoing to my supervisor or other member of management immediately.
18. When faced with an ethical dilemma I will consult with my supervisor or a trusted colleague.
19. I understand that if I fail to comply with this code, I may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.
